Share your experiences of private dental services: for consumers

Overview

The Competition and Markets Authority has launched a market study into the UK’s private dentistry market.

We are looking at:

  • how the private dentistry market works
  • how well it is working for consumers
  • whether it could work better

By private dental services, we mean any dental care or treatment you choose to purchase for you or your family privately in the UK – whether delivered by a dentist or another dental professional (for example, a hygienist).

Private dental services can include:

  • preventative care
  • clinically necessary treatments (like extractions)
  • cosmetic treatments (like tooth whitening or veneers)

We want to hear from you

How we handle responses

Depending on the number of responses received, we may use AI tools to assist us with handling responses. 

We will not publish individual responses, but we expect to publish some figures arising from the responses we receive (for example, how many people responded), and summarise any broad themes.
